Description of the mandate
For this project carried out in Candiac , our team's objective was to optimize and refresh an existing terrace while preserving its main structure.
The client wanted to reduce the footprint of the old staircase, modernize the appearance of the patio and integrate closed storage under the terrace.
We therefore replaced the finishing elements, rebuilt the entire staircase, added a functional sliding door and installed new railings combining treated wood and aluminum.
Technical challenges
The main challenge stemmed from the old staircase , which was too wide and occupied a significant portion of the terrace, limiting its functionality.
The existing structure also required an upgrade to ensure a solid and sustainable base for the new facilities.
Finally, the integration of closed storage under the terrace required precise design to guarantee practical access and aesthetic consistency .
Solutions implemented

Complete removal of the old, overly wide staircase.
Construction of a new, narrower staircase , better integrated and in accordance with best practices.
Structural adjustments to ensure a solid and durable base.
Terrace finishing
Upgrading the existing structure.
Installation of new treated wood finishing boards to unify the whole.
Clean and aligned finishes for an aesthetically pleasing and consistent result.
Storage under the terrace
Design and addition of a custom-made closed storage unit .
Installation of sturdy doors with suitable hardware.
Optimizing unused space for practical storage.
Guardrails and safety
Removal of the old guardrails.
Installation of a system combining treated wood and aluminium bars .
Precise installation to ensure safety and modernity.
Addition of the sliding door
Installation of a compact and easy-to-use exterior sliding door .
Harmonious integration with the existing structure.
Treated wood finish for a uniform appearance.
Project duration
The project was completed in just over a week .
Final result
The end result offers a more functional , better optimized and significantly more aesthetically pleasing terrace.
The client said he was very satisfied with this complete transformation, which perfectly meets his needs in terms of space, storage and ease of use.
