Richmond Project – Bathroom
Description of the mandate
In this semi-basement apartment located in Montreal , our mandate was to carry out the complete renovation of the bathroom , most of which had already been demolished before our intervention.
The project included a complete reconfiguration of the sanitary fixtures , modification of the plumbing under the concrete slab, preparation and leveling of the floor, reconstruction of the surfaces, as well as a complete modernization of the electricity, ceramics and various finishing elements.
The objective was to transform the old bathroom into a modern, bright and functional space, including a new bath, underfloor heating and completely renewed fixtures.
Technical challenges
Plumbing modifications within the concrete slab
The new configuration required the relocation of the bath, toilet and sink , as well as some adjustments to bring the facilities up to standard.
Since the bathroom is located in a semi-basement, part of the concrete slab had to be opened up to allow for the relocation of the plumbing pipes.
Once the modifications were completed, the slab was closed and repaired before a self-leveling compound was poured , providing a suitable surface for the following steps.
Integration of the new facilities
The renovation also required coordinating several new installations in a relatively compact space:
Electric underfloor heating.
four recessed lights with dimmer.
New fan with timer.
New sockets and new switches.
New plumbing and taps.
integration of a wall niche in the bathing area.
Particular attention was also paid to the connections between the new surfaces and the existing sections that were retained.
