Description of the mandate

In this single-family home located in Beloeil , our mandate consisted of installing gypsum , rock wool , and plastering the joints as part of a complete basement renovation .

The work included installing gypsum on the new partitions and the bathroom ceiling, followed by a complete finishing of the joints to prepare the spaces for the next stages of the project, including priming , painting , flooring and finishing work .

Technical challenges

This project required careful execution to obtain perfectly uniform surfaces ready to receive the finishes.

Prepare surfaces ready to receive finishes

All the new divisions had to offer a quality finish allowing the work to continue without major rework.

The main challenges were:

  • neatly connect the new walls to the existing surfaces.

  • integrate the various electrical and mechanical openings , mainly in the bathroom.

  • to obtain perfectly uniform joints across all new partitions.

  • to ensure a sufficiently precise finish to facilitate the subsequent stages of the project.

As with each of our plastering projects, we applied a partial coat of primer to bring out the slightest imperfections, make the necessary corrections and deliver surfaces ready to be primed and painted.

Solutions implemented

Isolation and preparation of the partitions

  • Installation of rock wool insulation in all new divisions.

  • Preparing the walls before installing the gypsum.

Drywall installation

  • Complete installation of gypsum on the new partitions.

  • Bathroom ceiling installation.

  • Installation of the necessary metal corner pieces .

Plaster jointing

  • Application of several layers of joint compound.

  • Complete sanding of surfaces.

  • Application of a partial coat of primer for joint inspection.

  • Final corrections of imperfections.

  • Re-application of primer to the corrected areas.

Project duration

Less than 4 days.

Final result

The basement is now fully ready for the next finishing stages .

Thanks to careful gypsum installation, complete rock wool insulation and meticulous joint finishing , the surfaces offer a uniform and high-quality base for primer, paint, flooring and other finishing work.

This intervention allows the project to progress on solid foundations while ensuring a durable and professional finish.
