Description of the mandate

For this project in Laval , our team's objective was to modernize a basement room to make it warm, bright, and ready to be fitted out as a training space.

The work mainly consisted of installing a wooden slat ceiling and a light wood effect floating floor , while ensuring a clean and consistent finish.

Technical challenges

As the existing ceiling and floor were made of concrete slabs , the installation had to be carried out without removing any materials, adapting the fixing methods to guarantee a solid and durable result.

Some minor drywall repairs were carried out in the process, and precise openings were made in the floating floor to maintain access to the plumbing inspection chambers.

Solutions implemented

Installation of the wooden slat ceiling

  • Complete installation of a wooden slat ceiling , creating a warm and modern effect.

  • Fixings adapted to the concrete slab to ensure strength and longevity.

  • Meticulous finishing for a consistent appearance throughout the space.

Installation of the floating floor

  • Removal of existing baseboards and quarter-round moldings before installation.

  • Installation of a floating floor with a light wood finish to unify the room.

  • Precise cutouts to maintain access to plumbing access points.

  • Reinstall the baseboards for a clean and consistent finish.

Additional finishes

  • Replacing light fixtures to improve ambiance and brightness.

  • Minor plaster adjustments to correct some imperfections.

Project duration

The work was completed in less than two weeks .

Final result
